The WEMs system allows you to combine your BACnet® IP BMS with WEMS Modular or integrated wireless I/O devices in form of a wired, wireless or hybrid network resulting in a robust, cost-effective solution for many BMS applications.

The range includes modular and integrated units.

Each modular I/O can use both wired and wireless communications modules concurrently to enable the creation of a hybrid network. This mixing of communications allows you to tailor your systems to each building’s plant and infrastructure and also allows you to effectively value-engineer your projects.
The Modular range of I/O is made up using clusters of DIN rail mounted modules that plug together, like building blocks. Each module is dedicated to an I/O function i.e. digital inputs, thermistor inputs, analogue inputs, analogue outputs, relay outputs or communications. This modular approach allows the user to match the exact combination of points required at each location.

The Integrated controllers use the same powerful wireless communications as the Modular range and sensors, but with more points available, making them ideal for boiler houses, chilled water plant room, air handling units and many other BMS applications.
The wireless integrated controller range is compatible with the BACnet® Gateway, allowing you to use our robust wireless comms with your BMS platform of choice. Systems integrators can even mix-and-match integrated I/O with modular I/O in a single system.

Modular Controllers

Modular Controllers
The WEMS Controller module manages the I/O modules directly connected to it and provides power to all the modules. It requires a 12Vdc supply. The Controller has remotely upgradeable firmware and LED status indication.

Integrated Controller 1
Our Controller 1 is a wireless Integrated I/O module which provides one relay output, four digital inputs and two temperature/light sensor inputs. The Controller 1 can communicate directly with a WEMS BACnet® Gateway and can also provide hopping for wireless sensors to greater extend their range.

Integrated Controller 4

Modular Outputs

Analogue Output (0-10Vdc)
This module provides a modulated 0-10Vdc analogue output signal. There are two terminals for output, one 0-10Vdc and one Common. The module features an override button on the front to step the voltage output during commissioning or maintenance or to affect a manual override.

Single Output Relay (5A)
The Single Relay can switch 5A at 240Vac. The terminals are 2-part with Common/Normally Open/Normally Closed contacts. The module features an override button on the front to force the status during commissioning or maintenance or to affect a manual override.

Modular Inputs

Analogue Input (0-10Vdc)
The 0-10Vdc Analogue Input supports two inputs per module and each input supports a 0-10Vdc transducer.

Analogue Input (4-20mA)
Our 4-20mA Analogue Input supports two inputs per module, each input supporting a 4–20mA transducer.

Digital Input (48V)
Our Digital Input supports four inputs per module and each input can be status, alarm or metering. The inputs require a wetting voltage between 12-48Vdc from an external source.

Thermistor Input (10K3)
This thermistor Input supports four inputs per module and each input supports a 10K3A1 thermistor sensor. The thermistor inputs can accept temperature or light level resistance inputs.

Wireless USB Module
The WEMS USB module provides a wireless interface to WEMS wireless modules via a USB host port on the Gateway 100 (WSG-BAC-01).

Dual-Band Repeater
Our Dual-Band Repeater provides a reliable high-power wireless network backbone throughout large buildings. Used in pairs, they create an 868MHz bridge between two 434MHz networks to extend wireless range up-to 3km line-of-sight.

434MHz Wireless Comms
Our 434MHz narrow band wireless module is 6.25mW (8dBm max) powered and provides up to 2km line-of-sight communications between wireless devices.
Any MX cluster can have wired, wireless or a mix of both communication types. You can combine multiple wireless frequency modules with RS-485 communication modules into a single cluster.
This flexibility allows the cluster to receive wirelessly and send out wired communications to the next cluster or vice-versa. Any cluster can support any combination of the modules listed here.

RS485 Comms
Any cluster can have use an RS-485 module for traditional hard-wired communications. Communications from wireless modules can also be hopped through the RS-485 module and vice-versa back to a Site Manager or 3rd party BMS via a Gateway.
