Description

Eurotec offer increased body temperature screening solutions from leading infrared specialists Optris and Testo. For further information on each offering please view the ‘Optris Solutions’ and ‘Testo Solutions’ tabs.

Years ago, epidemics like SARS, MERS or Swine flu created a local demand for infrared cameras that could screen for increased body temperature conditions in humans. Now, the Coronavirus pandemic has created a global need for these systems. The basis for the effectiveness of thermal cameras as a screening tool, lies in the correlation of outside skin surface temperature with internal or core body temperature.

With international travel restrictions in place for the foreseeable future, the emphasis of screening has moved from airports and travel to the returning workforce and public spaces. The health of returning staff is critical to businesses and body surface temperature screening can ensure employee health is not compromised by contact with the virus. This is especially important in businesses that are customer facing.

    Optris Solutions

Eurotec have two solutions available for fever screening from infrared specialists Optris.

    1. Crowd Based Screening using the Optris Xi 400. The IR camera can monitor a crowd of people at once or sequentially.
    2. Individual Screening using the Optris PI 450i. This method is mainly used at control gates or where crowd screening is not possible.

Please view our Fever Screening Systems Brochure and Technical Note below for more detailed information on the solutions available.

The Technical note below offers a fever screening systems guideline with the following content:

    – Main approaches for screening of elevated body temperatures
    – Measurement accuracy without and with referencing
    – Camera deployment tips for gaining best results
    – Influences on external skin temperatures

    Testo Solutions

Why identify increased body surface temperature with thermography?
An important indicator for an infection is increased body temperature (compared to other people in the immediate surroundings), generally known as fever. Thermography is the ideal method for scanning not just individuals, but also large flows of people. To do this, the temperature at the inner corner of the eye is measured, and an alarm triggered if it deviates. This allows persons with increased body temperature to be identified quickly and reliably, and to be isolated for more exact testing.

Increased Body Surface Temperature with the Testo 885 and 890 thermal imagers
With the new Testo FeverDetection Assistant, the Testo 890 and 885 thermal imagers are perfect for identifying potentially ill persons.

    • Reliable: up to 1280 x 960 pixels resolution (with Testo SuperResolution) and good thermal sensitivity
    • Flexible: HDMI interface allows for data transfer to an external screen, they can also be used in semi-stationary applications, such as security checkpoints
    • Easy: can be used by the most diverse staff, thanks to high level of user convenience.
    • Not suitable for diagnostic measurement in the medical field.

Please contact your local Eurotec sales representative to determine the best thermal imaging camera for your requirements.

Testo handheld infrared thermometers for Increased Body Surface Temperature Detection
The Testo handheld infrared thermometers can be pointed at a person’s forehead for non-contact temperature measurement, allowing individuals with increased body surface temperature to be identified quickly so they can be isolated for more exact testing.

Note: It is important not to point the thermometer directly at the eye area. Please make sure to read instructions carefully before use or contact a Eurotec representative for assistance.

We offer four models of infrared thermometers for this application:

    • Testo 831 30:1 optics, 2-point laser spot marker, temp measuring range -25°C to +250°C
    • Testo 830-T1 10:1 optics, 1-point laser spot marker, temp measuring range -30°C to +400°C
    • Testo 830-T2 12:1 optics, 2-point laser spot marker measures the surface between the two laser points, temp measuring range -30°C to +400°C
    • Testo 830-T4 30:1 optics, 2-point laser spot marker measures the surface between the two laser points, temp measuring range -30°C to +400°C

Please contact your local Eurotec sales representative for find the best infrared thermometer for your application.
